Banana River Resort Windsurfing Bash, Oct 31-Nov 1, 2009
Ever been to a regatta where you had to wait all morning until the breeze freshened? How did you pass the time? Read a book? Sand your board? Straighten your harness lines? Bored out of your mind waiting, waiting waiting. This was not the case at BRR. The conditions were perfect for some surfing and SUP enjoyed by everyone. When the breeze came we were able to race 7 races for the Kona Fleet and 3 races for the Formula group. The Sat nite Halloween party continued into the night so that by awards time on Sunday everyone had a full course of fun on and off the water. There was never a dull moment the entire weekend.
The final results are posted below compiled by a very experienced race committee consisting of Greg & Beth Winkler, (great to have Greg back on the scene), Karen Marriot and Dominique Vallee. Thanks to Beth and Greg for being race committee, providing dinner Saturday night and being gracious hosts (and for the pumpkin trophies!) and Alex and Simona for the awesome post race bbq!
